Their first priority is to create a safe, happy, engaging and stimulating learning environment for the children and believe me they do a super job. The early learning environment is a partnership between home and school and my teachers are proactive in communicating with parents so that we know exactly what the parents’ expectations are.
Meet The Team
I have been teaching In SAA for 9 years, originally as a part time job share. I grew up in Edinburgh, I have 2 boys who are both at university in the UK. I originally worked in the city and retrained as an infant teacher when my youngest was 2 years old. We have lived in England, Australia and Singapore for the past 10 years.
My name is Jeannette Yeo. I started my teaching career, as an Assistant Teacher in a local early learning centre after my A levels and the enriching experience cemented my decision to work with young children. Since then, I have been working in the Early Childhood field for about 14 years, both in the local and international contexts - in inclusive settings for children aged from 2 to 6 year olds. For the last 8 years, I have been working in Swallows and Amazons Early Learning Centre in various capacities - Deputy Head Teacher / Curriculum Coordinator and the Early Learning Centre Teacher. Currently, I hold a Bachelors in Education (Early Childhood) (with Hons.). I am also pursuing an Advanced diploma in Special Needs and Inclusive Education.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling as it gives me the opportunity to experience and understand different cultures and meet new people. In fact, one of my childhood dreams was to become a tour guide! I believe that we should always keep experiencing new adventures – whether it is trying new foods, visiting new places. This also helps me in my understanding the diverse families that I have been blessed to work with and to help the children to become the most successful and confident people that they are made to be!
Hi everyone, my name is Ms Sarah Peters and I have been working in SAA since January of 2014. I have been in the Early Childhood Education field since Dec of 1991, it’s been a long time and I have learnt a lot and am still learning. I also worked in Wellington, New Zealand for 6yrs with KIDICORP childcare. To me being an Early Childhood Educator is the best job ever. You get to create with Lego, go down the slides, swing on the swings and run around playing catch with the children and all this is not just “play”. It’s learning how to think, handle each other and working together.
I am a single mum of two fantastic and talented teens. A boy 19yrs old and a daughter 15yrs old. My daughter is currently studying in New Zealand and living with my family there.
I look forward to providing a fulfilling and enriching environment for your child/children to grow and learn.
My name is Soniya Sidhu. I have just join Swallows and Amazon as a Senior Teacher. I am truly honoured to be appointed to this position and am looking forward to working with the dedicated staff and parents to provide the best possible educational program for the children.

I have 16 years teaching experience in the preschool industry which consists of 8 years teaching experience in local based and Montessori preschools and 8 years of teaching experience with an IB based curriculum, Reggio Emilia , Project-based and PYP approach in an international preschools. I also have a diploma in Montessori (International) and some teaching experience in Montessori. During my leisure time, I love to travel, read and spend time with my family.
My teaching philosophy is to ensure that no child gets let behind and to encourage each child to develop to their fullest potiential.
Hi everyone, my name is Yu Jun and I am the Mandarin teacher. I joined Swallows and Amazons in March 2016. I come from Beijing, China and have lived in Singapore for the last 4 years. During this time, I have been working in an Early Childhood setting. I have acquired a Diploma in Early Childhood Education (Mandarin). I am glad to be working in Swallows and Amazons as it has given me the opportunity to meet children from different countries and cultures. Moreover, this experience has enabled me to not only teach Mandarin but also to share the Chinese culture with them through song and craft. Each child is a unique individual and their zealous energy and enthusiasm for learning is infectious!
I'm British & have been living in Asia now for almost 25 years, the last 19 being in Singapore. My early career path is very different to my work now. In the U.K. I worked as an optician for a large optical company & then in Hong Kong I worked in a medical practice. My children were born in Singapore & it was when they were attending pre-school that I decided this was the area I'd love to work in.
I am happy to say that I have been working at Swallows & Amazons for 9 years. I enjoy working here because I believe that learning should be fun.
As Plato said 'The most effective kind of education is that a child should play amongst lovely things.' & this is what we do at Swallows & Amazons. Also the children are encouraged to be curious, to explore, to be risk takers, & to be independent. I get a lot of fulfillment out of my work & the children's comments & expressions always make me smile - to see the look of excitement on their faces when a science experiment works or a comment such as 'I can't believe I could do that!' always makes my day!
In my spare time I enjoy traveling, coffee & cafe hunting, photography, cycling, music & spending time with my children.
Hi I’m Ms. Huda and I joined SAA as a Teacher’s Assistant in May 2017. I have a Diploma in Info-Communications and Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education. I worked in an International Preschool as a teacher for two years before I left to work in the banking industry.
After 5 years in banking, I re-joined the Early Childhood Education industry as it gives me a sense of fulfilment. I love children and have a passion for working with them. My objective as an Early Childhood educator is to build confidence, independence and instill positive attitude as well as respect for diversity in the children so that they can apply it in real life.

Hi, my name is Ms. Salwa and I have been working in SAA since Feb 2013. I have a Diploma in Montessori Method of Teaching and a Fundamental Certification in Early Childhood Education. I have been working as a teacher and teacher’s assistant in both local and international schools for close to 10 years.
