*NEW* School Transport Service

16th March 2009 saw the start of the Swallows and Amazons Kindergarten Bus service.
The bus transport is being provided by A & K Coach Services, who provide the bus service for United World College of SE Asia and Lycee Francais de Singapour.
We have used them for some time for school trips and for our weekly transport to and from the swimming pool. All buses are fitted with 3-point seat belts and as well as the driver, a Bus Aunty accompanies each journey.

Specialist ECA - Little Amazons' Swimming

Foo Tian Meng, brings with him 13 years of experience for the age groups of 6 months and above. He is a Singapore Sports Council Approved registered Instructor, national registration of swimming coaches in the Sports Council and is CPR and first aid trained. He keeps up to date by attending the Infant Aquatics conferences in the United States and Australia and the conferences run by the National Swim School Association America and World Aquatic Baby Congress. Subject to additional course fees. We strongly advise parents to enrol in this course.
"Drowning is the leading cause of death in some parts of the world and the second leading cause of accidental death worldwide, but it can prevented through a variety of known strategies." Specialist ECA - Enrichment Mandarin
Starting Monday 2nd June 2008.

Monday 2nd June and Wednesday 4th June sees the start of the Swallows and Amazons Mandarin Enrichment Classes.
The highly experienced Rosemary Choo will be leading this highly popular 90 minute class twice a week from 4.30pm to 6pm. Please register early as places are limited to a maximum of 6 students per class. Currently we have only one place left on the Wednesday class and 2 places for the Monday class. Subject to additional course fees.

The opening of a new Nursery 1 class, the N1 Egrets from 29th June 2009.
Due to the wait list, a new N1 class will be opened at the start of Term 3 (29th June 2009). Jenny Dally and Linda Smith, will co-share the teaching of this class. Both teachers bring with them a wealth of experience from teaching the pre-school age group in the UK. They have already been teaching at Swallows and Amazons on a part time basis for the past six months.

Specialist ECA - Music Appreciation
A Musical Journey for 2 to 6 year olds

A 45-minute lesson, once a week on Fridays.
Ms Yip Sook Cheng
[diplomas in Piano Performance and Teaching from the Associated Board
of the Royal Schools of Music as well as Trinity College of London
(1979) and Bachelor and Master degrees in music (after several years
teaching and studying in the USA) and Early Childhood teacher trained]
'conducts' this fun and ceative introduction to music.
Topics
covered include: singing, body movement and body percussion, rhythm,
playing instruments, musical terms, instruments of the orchestra,
musical stories, the science of sound and improvisatio and creatinf
soundscapes.

Cathy West Moves to Korea

Sadly, we must bid farewell to Cathy West as she leaves Singapore with her family and moves to Korea. Cathy has been the driving force and inspriation behind our very successful Mums and Toddlers' Group, CeeJay's, held at Swallows and Amazons over the past six months.
Best wishes for the future Cathy!
